Michael Kors Spring/Summer 2007 New York Fashion Week, Couture in the City Fashion Blog
This is Michael Kors' best collection in years. The mix of nude tones with black and pale powder pink was crisp and bold. I always look for wearability in collections, even in separate pieces, and everything in this collection can be transferred from the runway to reality. The chunky knits paired with stretch tops and leggings provide the perfect transitional wear from winter to spring. Dresses were full of wispy movement; layered ballerina like skirts were smattered across the collection. Kors seemed to let go a bit with his usual uptight uptown aesthetic and let loose with this 80s inspired collection. Although, some oldschool Kors remain as patent belts reminiscent of recent Fendi cinched waists in each look. I'm tired of that look but it won't stop me from heading down to Michael Kors as soon as the collection is in stores.
