Second Chance Fashion Community Launches August 15th. Couture in the City Fashion Blog
The second chance fashion social network is out of beta testing and we are officially launching the community on August 15th. Here is the skinny on the community and the people that are involved. Please forgive the length of this post but I thought it was important for people to know some of this information as we have had a number of first time visitors in the last few days. The information below gives you an overview of the community, why we started it and people that are helping us.
The second chance fashion social network was created by two young companies, second chance® apparel and the social network firm Crowd Factory. The community was created just for designers and artists in the fashion industry.
The founders of the community are betting that the strength of social networking will bring new apparel ideas and brands to a wider audience, while giving new fashion designers & artists a platform to show their work.
second chance® is a relatively new apparel brand that was launched into the national spotlight through the 2006 Grammy® awards, as well as other media events. The opportunities that second chance apparel gained from media exposure gave the principal owner Michelle Lamar and business partner Phyllis Nolan the idea to launch secondchancefashion.com.
Some trend-setters in the fashion and on-line world are pitching in to help by volunteering as moderators for some of the various groups in the second chance fashion community.
Some of the people helping second chance fashion include:
Angelique Lee, founder of Le-Fashionista.com
Glamour magazine says that Le-Fashionista.com is “one of just 8 websites that style insiders swear by”. Angelique is moderator for the “Designer” group in the Second Chance Fashion community.
Jay Arnold, creative guru of Imax Marketing Group and co-founder of Fabulous Stationery.com. Trend setter and on-line retail innovator Jay Arnold is heading up the “Cool Stuff” group in the community.
Cybele Parsignault , executive for the premier LA group, Distinctive Assets and beauty blogger Cybele has agreed bring her knowledge of the fashion trends to the community by being a moderator for the “Accessories” group.
Crowd Factory is a group of Silicon Valley social network architects. The company is young but the team has impressive credentials including experience at Google, Oracle, Yahoo and other tech giants.
Alexander Mouldovan and the Crowd Factory team became involved in second chance fashion because it is a "groundbreaking on-line endeavor that enables artists to talk to enthusiasts and gain awareness. We want to bring together new artists and designers as well as give consumers a direct line for input and feedback. It was the second chance team and their passion for bringing people together that made us decide to get involved in this project.”
We couldn't have said it better Alexander!
second chance fashion will officially launch on Tuesday, August 15th. The community can be found at www.secondchancefashion.com
