Melissa Joan Hart rocks the off-the-shoulder look as Clarissa.
The Scrunchie...wear it around your wrist or with a topsy-tail twist for extra-coolness.
Mayim Bialik as Blossom in one of her notorious hats (and checkered spandex!).
The tie-dye tee shirt...a classic "Dead" head staple.
Everyone has a fashion nightmare...for my boyfriend, it was the day he couldn't find his shoes and instead of being late for school, his mom made him wear her pink L.A. Gear's instead. For me, it's looking back at my middle school fashion years and wondering exactly what I was thinking. Sure, oversized 90210 t-shirts and spandex shorts were cool back then, but I cringe at my former self now.
In honor of the last 5 years of 80's revival in fashion, I bring you my biggest fashion nightmare of all time...the return of early 90's style!
Circa 1992, my fashion icon was none other than Clarissa from "Clarissa Explains it All." She was so cool, and had a boy climb through her window, went to Pearl Jam concerts and had a wardrobe to die for. It was because of Clarissa that I started to wear vests layered over men's shirts.
For a while there, I even toyed with creating my own clothes...like tie-dyed t-shirts and "Blossom" style hats (so bad...my poor hot glue gun). I also made more scrunchies than you could throw a Lisa Frank pencil at, and yes, they all were coordinated to match my outfit.
Do you have a similar fashion nightmare? Revisit your bad fashion choices of the past and tell us how awesome you are now. Did you do the mini-skirt and thigh-high boots thing? Bongo jeans with tucked-in t-shirts? Let us know!
