New to Le-Fashionista.com: Jewelry Designer bijou X

Inspired by the few remaining American tool-and-die companies, we design individually hand-made jewelry that pays homage to the past with a uniquely lighter twist.

The jewelry is simply amazing and looks beautiful on. My favorites are
Winsome Hoops Dangles and Baroque Frame Necklace. If you are looking for jewelry that is unique, stylish and affordable look no further than bijou X.

Winsome Hoops Dangles - $45

Delicate, interlacing swirl motifs combine to create these vintage-tooled 1 5/8" raw brass hoops. To wear them is to understand the definition of the word, 'winsome'. ('winsome'- from an Olde English origin meaning "joy".)

Heraldic Messenger Earrings - $50

In bas relief, a Neoclassical beauty stands atop a cannon, blowing her horn as if she's playing jazz for the heavens.

French Empire Wreath Necklace

Imagine this... Napolean and Josephine finding splendor in the grass. Although, Josephine might have insisted that he remove his laurel wreath crown before the obligatory "French Kiss". Stone shown Padparadscha (salmon).

16 Inch Chain - $55
18 Inch Chain - $60

Baroque Frame Necklace

Versailles on a chain...breathless. (all this, without flying to Paris). Stone shown
Ruby Red.

16 Inch Chain - $55
18 Inch Chain - $60

Fashion Designer Tip of the Day, Corsets, Couture in the City Fashion Blog

If you're not so well endowed, a corset can be the perfect way to create some cleavage without looking like a hoochie. I can't believe I actually typed hoochie, but there you go! Mischa Barton is the perfect example of this. She's not exactly a Pamela Anderson but her corset bustier dress creates an illusion of quite a, well, bust.

If you love this style so incredibly much, then get your own version from Asos.

For the glamour pusses out there, this black corset bustier dress by Just Cavalli is fun, flirty and gaurenteed to get you noticed on a night out. Available from Neiman Marcus for $1,100

BodyRocks Jewelry: A True Fire Starter!

When I wear jewelry, I always go for the eye-candy. I like bright colors, chunky pendants and delicate chains. I found the perfect package of fire-filled perfection with BodyRocks Jewelry's Fire Agate Necklace on 14kt Gold-Fill Chain with Lobster Clasp.

The new Fire Agate necklace is unique in the fact that no two pendant drops are alike; they all have intricate variations. Strikingly stunning spheres of radiant Fire Agate dangle from a full 25 inches of gold-fill chain adorned with a marble textured pendant of swirling Fire Agate.

Gabrielle Union, Lake Bell, Sela Ward, Catherine Hicks, Jane Leeves, Evan Rachel Wood, Jillian Barberie, and many others rock their bodies with BodyRocks Jewelry. BodyRocks Jewelry designs are timeless, yet fashion current and are fabulously fresh for 2007. Add some fire to your wardrobe with The BodyRocks Fire Agate Necklace.

Designer Fashion Tip of the Day: Basic Black

Carolyn Murphy

Don’t ruin a perfectly good basic black ensemble with weird puffy white sleeves poking out for no good reason. If you must break up your black ensemble, do it with a little more sublety, a la Miss. Watts.

Naomi Watts

Ahh…that’s better.

Should You Have to Squeeze Into Your Skinny Jeans?

A question I've heard a lot lately is, "Should you have to squeeze into your skinny jeans?" My take on it, is that they don't necessarily have to be skin-tight. Most skinny jeans are made with strech fabric, so of course, you don't want them loose-fitting, but they don't have to be the kind of jeans you have to lay back on the bed and suck in breath to get into. I've worn some pretty tight skinny jeans, as well as some that were a tad loose - almost one size too big, and both looked pretty good. So, for Monday's poll, leave a vote - leave a comment if you feel like it! Let's see what you have to say!

Trendscape: Sweaterdresses

It’s a brisk October day, but you still feel like sporting a dress. What to do? You’re in luck because this fall, two fashion staples–dresses and sweaters–have mated to birth one luxuriously cozy trend: sweaterdresses. Feast your eyes on three of our favorites.

Trend Alert: Extra Long Clutches

We've told you before that a cute and stylish clutch is always in style. But you can't always fit all of your accessories in a regular sized clutch, which is why this season's extra long clutches are so great. With one of these, you might actually have room for your cell phone and your Blackberry and your lipstick and your credit cards and your compact. Imagine that! I especially love the one that Jennifer Aniston is carrying at the Reel Moments premier this week.

I have been ogling this Patricia Satchel since I saw a write-up on the designer on Clothes-Pin many months ago. So I was delighted to find these luscious lovelies! I had no idea this dome shaped leather bag came in all of these colors. Hmmm, the red? The black?

BodyRocks Jewelry: Vintage Glamour with a Touch of Modern Elegance

I’m always on the look-out for next year’s haute designs and BodyRocks Jewelry is putting out some to-die-for pieces that I must share with our lovely readers.

My new fav I crave is the 1930's inspired Asymmetrical Faceted Citrine Necklace on 14kt Gold-Fill Chain. The golden tones of this necklace are breathtaking; four glorious champagne kisses of Citrine dangle elegantly from a full 55 inches of 14kt Gold-fill chain. With the striking array of golden tones, the Citrine Necklace is the perfect piece for the Fall Season.

Gloria Swanson and other great old film stars of Hollywood brought Citrine to the public awareness in the late 30’s. Ms. Swanson wore her own extremely long, flamboyant Citrine necklaces in her dramatic films. At that time, Citrine was so unavailable to the general population, that it cost a fortune. BodyRocks Jewelry is proudly bringing a touch of vintage Hollywood glamour to their loyal customers.

The design is unique in the fact that the Citrine gemstones are displayed asymmetrically on the chain and the necklace has no clasp. The necklace is lusciously lengthy; it can be doubled up, layered, worn as a choker, or worn long.

Fashion Designer Tip of the Day, Warm Winter Boots, Couture in the City Fashion Blog

Comfy as they may be, UGGS have been out for quite awhile now. I'm sure sometime in the near future they'll experience a resurgence but for now, they are minus zero on the trends scale. Not to worry though as there are plenty of other more stylish substitues out there.

I'm not a huge fan of fur trims or anything that resembles a rug covered shoe but I thought the Chalet boots by Alloy were too cute to resist. They have a slight masculine touch to them that goes perfectly with this winter's edge. The Cable Knit boots from Delia*s are my favourite. Hands down, they are so girly and look so warm to wear.

For something durable then it'll have to be the Wildone pair by Easyspirit. And those who can't be bothered to think about their outfits too hard, the French Connection Foldovers will go with anything.

Available from asos for $199.50

Available from Delias for $65

Available from alloy for $39.50

Available from easyspirit for $99
