Vuitton Still Rules

Mariah modeling with her beloved LV trunks

Lindsay Lohan goes casual with her LV satchel

Celebrities just can't get enough of Vuitton...apparently, preparations are in the works for Mariah Carey to even be modeling for them in a high profile campaign very soon.

So what is it that makes the LV logo so great? Is it the simple, regal styling and the clean, classic lines? Or is it just because Vuitton has become such a symbol of high fashion and high society?

Either way, Vuitton has been sparking our interest sing the 1850's when the company first started creating luggage in Paris. Our favorite classis LV monogrammed design of brown on chesnut has actually been around since 1896 and has been coveted by celebrities and fashionista's ever since.

Why do you think that the LV line has lived so long? What makes it more special than new and more contemporary designs today?

Mama’s Got A Brand New Bag!

This year I am trying something different: I am buying gifts BEFORE holidays, not on the day of.

Mother’s Day is just around the corner and as I was searching for a beautiful, but affordable gift for mi Madre, I stumbled upon Charles L. Thomas’s hot handbag line.

Handbags are the perfect gift in my opinion because not only is the bag a gift in itself, you can fill it with blissful beauty products or hot to trot accessories.

What’s my Mother’s Day pick?

“The Jessica” in Ravishing Red!

“A truly unique evening bag that gives you a feel of a satchel. It has a look that is richly luxuriously structured yet soft to the touch. Soft genuine Italian lambskin combined with beautiful imported pleated satin pillow like front gives a taste of old Hollywood glamour. The Jessica is available in either “Ravishing Red” or “Warm Burgundy”. Both come with a matching change purse. Lined with the same satin that adorns the front. Size: 8" tall x 9" in width x 3 1/2" in depth Features include silver strap buckles, a magnetic snap flap closer inside pocket and cell phone pocket, and key ring hook strap.”

ONLY $75.98!

So instead of sending Mom flowers or a card this year, why not make her gift something elegant and functional? This time around you can give her a gift she will love and proudly use for years to come. What’s more, you won’t even have to wrap your Mother’s Day gift; every handbag arrives wrapped in a beautiful duster bag with tissue paper inside an elegant two-piece gift box. Charles even tucks a personally signed thank you card inside each handbag! What could be better than that?

Victoria Beckham's Fashion Bible

Victoria "Posh Spice" Beckham

As if her "Ten Commandments of Style" weren't enough, VB has announced that she will now pen a "Fashion Bible." Mother of three, fashion designer (sort of), former pop star and wife of the most famous soccer player ever, it was only a matter of time before we could expect a book deal.

The book will apparently feature interviews with some of VB's favorite designers, as well as her own philosophy on how to always look good.

Want a sneak peek at what Posh may say in her book? Check out her "Ten Commandments of Style"...whether she follows them all or not is still under speculation.

Rule 1 - Visualise Your Overall Look: "Visualise the overall look, then pull the pieces together."

Rule 2 - Shop The World: "Clothes from different countries help to put an individual stamp on your style."

Rule 3 - Borrow From Another Era: "Take inspiration from another decade. Alexander McQueen's vintage-style clothes are beautiful."

Rule 4 - Invest In Timeless Classics: "Be strategic - invest in clothes you can wear from season to season."

Rule 5 - Find Your Own Fashion Fail-Safe: "On a bloated day, always have some emergency figure flatterers."

Rule 6 - Accessories Are The Bare Necessities: "I never leave the house without sunnies."

Rule 7 - Dress From The Inside Out: "Good underwear is a real staple."

Rule 8 - Be Brave And Customise: "I like buying jumpers from Gap Kids and cutting them up."

Rule 9 - Trust In A Few Faithful Opinions: "I still listen to my mum."

Rule 10 - It's Fun To Experiment, But Follow Some Classic Style Must-Dos: "Don't let it all hang out; leave a little to the imagination."

Hot for Cotton

Boyfriend Tee, Vince $48.00

Loomstate, Milk and Honey Tee, $55.00

Anais Floral Tee, Marc by Marc Jacobs $138.00

Loomstate, All Together Now Tee, $55.00

Say it isn't so! When I saw this picture of the Boyfriend Tee from Vince, my jaw about dropped. I think that I have a picture of myself in middle school wearing an oversized tee just like that with rolled sleeves...who knew I was so ahead of my time! Seriously, $48 for a glorified undershirt is not cool. Cross your fingers for me that this look doesn't come back!

However, www.eluxury.com gets some serious props for their new tees from Pucci, Loomstate, Marc by Marc Jacobs and more. My favorites are from Loomstate...they have interesting silk screened images and are made on 100% organic cotton. Fancy.

My lust item? The Anais Tee from Marc by Marc Jacobs. Heck, I'll take anything from Marc Jacobs for that matter, but this top is so cute...I totally want to get it for my trip to France.

Anyways, the tee shirt revolution is obviously alive and well so all of you casual couture girls can relax and keep your cotton looks for another season.

TV Style

The Simple Life

Desperate Housewives

The O.C.

America's Next Top Model

Television has officially taken the style torch from magazine, film and even internet combined. Seems as though most of our fashion inspirations today come directly from TV shows such as "The O.C." and "Laguna Beach." Even now cancelled shows like Jessica Simpson's "Newlyweds" had a short term effect on the fashion industry.

Think about it...where would Paris and Nicole be without "The Simple Life?" And Mischa Barton...well, she would just be that little girl ghost from "The Sixth Sense." If you really give it some thought, most of our celebrity fashion icon's primarily work in television.

Television fashion inspiration isn't anything new...just think of today's "Desperate Housewives" as the "Dynasty" of the 80's. In the 70's, Farrah ruled on "Charlie's Angels" and the 60's had Mrs. Brady and Samantha from "Bewitched."

So do you think that fashion is really and truly inspired by television, or is it the other way around? What TV show had the biggest impact on your style? For me, it was "90210" in middle school, and then "My So Called Life" in high school (ick, I know). Tell us about your favorite (or least favorite) television inspired fashions!

Foxy Diddy Fox Fur Coat

That this fox fur collar is detachable only serves to remind you of how thoughtful a designer P Diddy is; couturier Diddy is not just about the dollar. By making the fox fur collar one easy zip off, P Diddy is saying, "Even if you find it unforgivable how debonaire and genius I am, I'm okay with you not being okay with being ridiculously, obnoxiously fabulous. You can be subtly fab.

"That's fine.

"Whatever it takes to get you to spend $1,695* on this coat**."

* On sale at Girl Shop for $678, slightly less than what you shell out for rent.

** I must profess my ooh la love for this double zipper cream genius. I fell in love with it online, carrassed it at Bloomies in NYC, and I find this 50%+ price cut more tempting than a soy latte.

Love it or Hate it?

Drew Barrymore pairs shorts with coat and Uggs

Yeesh! Some of our favorite fashionista's have been getting a little too crazy with their style, and should maybe consider firing their stylist (or getting one, for that matter).

Like all fashion disasters, there are a few elements to each of these disastrous ensembles that work on their own. For example, Mary Kate's bag is pretty awesome, Paris's halter is cute, and well, Lindsay and Drew have nice hair.

So what's the deal? Are celebs taking the Britney Spears route and dressing themselves at a disastrous pace? Or are we just being a little too judgemental? Either way, these ladies were probably just having a bad day because they usually get our snaps in the fashion department.

Which one of these looks is the absolute worst? Is one maybe not so bad? Cast your vote and tell us why!
